Ending each call

After every call you pick a disposition — just a quick label for what happened. This is important: it’s how ColdDialr knows what to do next.

  1. Pick a disposition button that matches how the call went (e.g. left a voicemail, not interested, wants a callback). Not sure what one does? Hover over it — a tooltip spells out what happens when you pick it, including the ones that take the prospect out of the queue for good.

  2. If you promised to call them back, pick a date — and a time if you have one. Leave it blank if there’s no callback.

  3. Add any notes you want to keep.

  4. Choose how to continue:

    • Save & Go saves it and dials the next person.
    • Save & Pause saves it and pauses so you can take a breather.

If you type a phone number into your notes — a direct line the receptionist gave you, say — and the prospect doesn’t have that number on file, a yellow panel appears when you save. Saving your notes alone does not add the number. The panel gives you three choices:

  • Make primary — dial this number from now on, and stop calling the old one.
  • Add as alternate — keep dialing the current number, and try this one as a fallback.
  • Not a phone number — it was an account number or a reference, not something to dial.

Pick one. Before this existed, corrections written into notes simply never reached the prospect’s record, and we kept dialing the wrong number.

Three of the buttons go further and block the number on every list, for every client, forever: Do Not Call / Remove, Bad #, and Lease/Rent/Property Mgr. And Busy Signal drops the prospect off this list after a single busy tone.

There are 23 buttons in all. Rather than guess from the colour, check What each disposition does — it lists every button, when to use it, and exactly what happens to the prospect after you save.
